She kept getting kicked each time we joined a server. I wanted to show her the ropes in a private game. I recently bought the humble bundle and gave my extra key to my daughter. And if you do, and want to play in a private locked server, you are forced into a loop of everyone leaving and rejoining until you get into a server that allows all players to play the perks they want. And chances are pretty high that you will wind up in a Vin server. The problem is that you get match-maked into a lobby. It's already KF2's replacement for listen servers. Originally posted by JimmyIowa:Do you know that when you create a game lobby you can set permissions "Private: passworded", and then invite friends and send them the password? You can do that now. This would be much easier to implement into the game than listen servers and I really hope the devs consider this as an option. Once all players leave, server unlocks once again Game is now private, and any players that wish to join the server must enter the password If vote passes, game informs players in the chat along with the password Once the vote is started, there needs to be a 100% vote to pass, so every player in the game must agree to take over the server The command is entered along with a password for the server When on a server with option enabled, there will be a command to start a takeover vote Server admins must have the option for vote-takeover enabled in settings, official servers would have this always enabled The server vote-takeover would work as follows: This system would allow players to pick a server of their liking, and with a vote, they would be able to make it private. Now on to an alternative solution to listen servers: Vote server takeover. With the current flow of things, doesn't look like the pattern of hrg/dlc/community map will be ending a any time soon. The devs have confirmed there are no listen servers, but there could be hope for some kind of listen system made by modders after the game's final update. Players that wish to play a private match with friends are forced to play the matchmaking lottery in hopes of getting a server that suits everyones perks or they can create their own server which can be challenging for some users. This works, but only if the player is playing alone, wants to join a public game with friends, or has a 6 people total. These vin servers have been bothering many players, and when said players come the forums, they are greeted with the usual "uSe tHE SeRVeR bRoWsER".
